Add EquineOps to Your Phone

You can add EquineOps directly to your phone’s home screen — no App Store or Google Play needed. Just a couple of taps and you’ll have quick access right alongside your other apps.

Why Add It to Your Home Screen?

Adding EquineOps to your home screen gives you:

  • Quick access: Launch directly from your home screen with one tap
  • Faster loading: The app loads instantly, even on slow connections
  • Full-screen experience: No browser address bar for a cleaner look
  • Works offline: Access recently viewed data even without internet
  • Push notifications: Get alerts for tasks and updates (coming soon)

EquineOps uses a technology called a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it works like an app on your phone but updates automatically — no app store downloads or manual updates required.

Installation Instructions

Installing on iPhone & iPad

EquineOps works best with Safari on iOS devices. Follow these steps to add it to your home screen:

Open EquineOps in Safari

Visit app.equineops.com  in Safari. Make sure you’re using Safari, not Chrome or another browser—the install feature only works in Safari on iOS.

Must use Safari: Apple requires using Safari to install web apps on iOS. If you open the link in another browser, you won’t see the “Add to Home Screen” option.

Tap the Share Button

Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up).

Scroll and Tap “Add to Home Screen”

In the share menu, scroll down until you see “Add to Home Screen” and tap it.

Can’t find it? Scroll down in the share menu—it’s often below the first row of icons. If you still don’t see it, make sure you’re using Safari and that you’re logged in to EquineOps.

Name Your App Icon

You can keep the default name “EquineOps” or customize it. Tap “Add” in the top right corner.

Find EquineOps on Your Home Screen

The EquineOps icon will appear on your home screen. Tap it to launch the app!

All done! You can now access EquineOps directly from your home screen. The app will open in full-screen mode without the Safari address bar.

Using EquineOps on Your Phone

Once added to your home screen, EquineOps works just like the website but with a more app-like experience:

  • Full screen: No browser controls cluttering your view
  • Fast navigation: Pages load quickly, often from cache
  • Always current: The app updates automatically—no manual updates needed
  • Seamless sync: All changes sync with the web version instantly

Tips for Best Experience

  • Stay logged in: The app remembers your session, so you don’t need to log in every time
  • Allow notifications: When prompted, enable notifications to get task reminders (coming soon)
  • Use landscape mode: Rotate your phone for a wider view on tablets or larger screens
  • Bookmark important pages: Use the in-app navigation to quickly access your most-used features

Troubleshooting

”Add to Home Screen” Option is Missing (iOS)

  • Not using Safari: This feature only works in Safari on iOS. Open the link in Safari, not Chrome or another browser.
  • Private browsing: Exit private/incognito mode and try again.
  • Restrictions enabled: Check Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → Allowed Apps and ensure Safari is enabled.

Install Option Not Appearing (Android)

  • Already installed: Check your home screen or app drawer—it might already be there.
  • Not using Chrome: Try using Chrome instead of Samsung Internet or another browser.
  • Incognito mode: Exit incognito mode and reload the page.
  • Clear cache: Go to Chrome settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data, then try again.

App Opens in Browser Instead of Full Screen

This can happen if you opened a link instead of the installed app. Make sure you’re tapping the EquineOps icon on your home screen, not a bookmark or browser shortcut.

To fix:

  1. Remove the current home screen icon
  2. Follow the installation steps above again
  3. Make sure you use Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android)

App Seems Outdated

PWAs update automatically when connected to the internet. If something seems off:

  1. Close the app completely (swipe it away from recent apps)
  2. Make sure you have an internet connection
  3. Reopen the app—it will fetch the latest version

Login Issues on Mobile

If you’re having trouble logging in:

  • Cookies blocked: Enable cookies in your browser settings
  • Third-party cookies: Some login methods require third-party cookies—make sure they’re not blocked
  • Try the browser: If the installed app has issues, try using the regular browser version to log in first, then switch back to the app

Removing the App

On iPhone/iPad

  1. Press and hold the EquineOps icon on your home screen
  2. Tap “Remove App” or the minus (−) icon
  3. Choose “Delete App” to remove it completely, or “Remove from Home Screen” to keep it in your App Library

On Android

  1. Press and hold the EquineOps icon
  2. Drag it to “Uninstall” or tap “Uninstall” in the menu
  3. Alternatively, go to Settings → Apps → EquineOps → Uninstall

Your data is safe: Removing the app doesn’t delete your account or data. You can reinstall anytime and pick up where you left off.
