Provider Types

When adding an external service provider to your farm, you select a provider type that determines their role and how they appear in your records.

Provider Profile Fields

When creating or inviting an external service provider, you can include:

  • Provider Type (required) — Determines their role and dashboard experience
  • Business Name — Their practice or company name (e.g., “Smith Farrier Services”)
  • License Number — Professional license or certification number
  • License Jurisdiction — State, province, or region where licensed

These details appear on the provider’s profile and help your team identify the right professional for each service.

Choosing the Right Type

If a provider offers multiple services, choose the type that best matches their primary role at your farm. For example:

  • A vet who also does dental work — choose Veterinarian
  • A farrier who also does bodywork — choose Farrier
  • A specialist with no matching category — choose Other

The provider type affects which program data they see in their dashboard, so pick the one most relevant to the work they do for you.
