Staff PINs
Staff PINs add a layer of identity confirmation in kiosk mode. When “Require staff PIN for actions” is enabled, staff must enter their PIN after selecting their name.
Default PIN
Every staff member starts with a default PIN of 0000. During onboarding, new staff members can change their PIN to something personal. We recommend encouraging staff to change their PIN from the default.
Setting Up a PIN
New staff members see a Kiosk PIN field during their onboarding setup. They can change it from the default 0000 to any 4-6 digit PIN.
Staff members can also change their PIN anytime from their account page, or admins/managers can set it from the staff member’s detail page.
PIN length is flexible: PINs can be 4, 5, or 6 digits. Staff choose what works best for them.
Changing a PIN
To change an existing PIN:
- Navigate to the staff member’s detail page
- In the Kiosk PIN section, click Change PIN
- Enter the new PIN and confirm
Staff members can also change their own PIN from Account settings.
Every staff member always has a PIN. PINs cannot be removed, only changed.
Security
- After 5 incorrect PIN attempts, the account is temporarily locked
- PINs are only used for kiosk mode identity confirmation — they do not replace the user’s login password
PINs are not passwords: Kiosk PINs confirm identity on a shared device. They don’t grant system access. The device must already be logged in to an Admin or Manager account for kiosk mode to work.
